Pre-Calculus Course Description


This course is designed to provide a comprehensive study of functions, which are the basis of calculus and other higher mathematics courses. Topics considered for first semester are: polynomial, rational, inverse, exponential, logarithmic functions and conic sections. 

Additional topics for semester 1 include systems of equations and inequalities, binomial expansion, and complex numbers. 


During the second semester, the students will explore analytic geometry, periodic functions, trigonometric properties and identities, applications of trigonometric functions, vectors, sequences, series and limits.


Prerequisite-Algebra 2 or higher

Requires a TI-83 or higher graphing calculator.
