This course covers concepts of algebra beyond what is normally addressed in Algebra I; therefore, credit in Algebra I is a prerequisite for enrollment in Fundamentals of Algebra II.  Geometry is usually taken prior to taking the Fundamentals course, but in special cases, the sequence may be reversed or the two courses may be taken concurrently.  This course is fundamentally similar to the Algebra II course, but the scope will be less extensive, the pacing will be slower, and some of the concepts will not be covered in as much depth.

Topics will include a review of Algebra I concepts, systems and matrices, quadratic functions, and more advanced functions as time permits.

Students who have not yet met or exceeded the math portion of Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) should benefit greatly from the content covered in this course.
